With our diversion to do the shed and some other outdoor projects it took a bit longer than planned to get back to finishing our remake of the bookshelves but we did it. Three weeks ago we left off with the primer coat of paint on. We applied two coats of the appropriate colors--white on the sides and ecru on the shelves--and then one coat of Bona Mega to seal and protect it all. Here's before and after.
And here's the final result. We're very pleased with how this turned out. The color scheme is the same we used for the other bookshelf, armoire, and dresser in the same room. They all look like a set now, despite being from different decades.
And here's our customary action photo (with the little bench providing an accent in a otherwise light toned room).
